Hello there, the name's Mevdik, musician, artist and anthropomorphic animal connoisseur.

This place is a nexus for all things I share with the World Wide Web under the veil of Mevdik.
Music, art, resources, notes and links to other places where you can find me.

I release my music under three aliases: Mevdik, ATLNTK & hvatra, all of them (us?) depicted as anthropomorphic animals (fursonas, if you will), tho in truth i am only a human, just like you.

//as for me, there is no such thing as canon or continuity here
//no point in separating the "reality" in fiction from the "fiction" in fiction
//this is all just art i've made at some point in my life
//and that's what's most important

ATLNTK

Mevdik

hvatra

ABSOLUTE GREMLIN! WATCH OUT! Yeah I'm EMO who fucking cares *amen break in the distance*
This alias is a creature of Chaos. ATLNKT (the artist formerly as "ATLANTIK") is all about embracing cringe, silliness and having fun. This cocktail of emotions manifests itself in the form of high energy dance music, usually with electric guitar power chords thrown in and titles stylized in ALL CAPS.

Latest Release [AUG.21.2021]:
GRTR (w/Mevdik)
Who I am in my head. Mevdik is the sculpture I've carved myself into, art as my chisel and countless influences as the marble. This is the part of me that I resonate with the most. Always searching for a way to express themselves, unshackled by genre conventions or aesthetics, Mevdik's sound is everchanging, prioritizing feeling over aesthetics.

Latest Release [FEB.01.2022]:
Darksine (arrange) (w/hvatra)
The fastest in the land. Inspired by the sound of 90s tracker music and genres like jungle and house, hvatra strives for a style as substance aestheric. A celebration of low fidelity, amateur production techniques, sampled breakbeats, parallel harmony stabs and tape hiss. A stylistic contrast to ATLNTK's modern sound, but equaly as non-serious.

The first time I approached music making was back in 2012, with no prior experience whatsoever. It wouldn't be until November 2014 that I would start work on what would end up being my first public releases, which came out on Februray 2015. As a result of having no musical background and being very young and naive at the time, most of my early discography is of very poor quality, specially when it comes to composition and arrangement, tho sound design, mixing and mastering were by no means acceptable either. Many of the tracks have silly, cringeworthy titles, and themes/tones are very inconsistant (up until very recently, even). For these reasons I wouldn't recommend that you listen to most tracks released prior to 2018 unless you want to hear the evolution of my work and are willing to sit through a couple of hours of bad music.

There's one reason why I haven't taken down these old, terrible tracks: so that they may serve as proof that everybody starts somwhere, and for most of us it's at the very bottom of the well. Not everyone is lucky enough to be born into a family of musicians, be taught the craft from an early age and continue to stick with it for life. I was not that lucky and had to trip and tumble through the learning process on my own, starting at age 16, my only mentor being the kind people of the Internet. So if you are just starting your musical journey with no prior experience and your music sucks ass I want you to know that it gets getter so long as you stick with it. Stay determined and willing to learn, music theory doesn't bite ;)

Big thanks to neocities.org for letting me host this nightmare.
